About Me

My name is K-J, short for Karl-Johan. I am a game programmer with experience in making games with c# in Untiy and c++, currently studying at The Game Assembly.

When I got into game development as an experimental hobby as a teenager, it quickly became an engaging experience. When making games, seeing how a game develops piece by piece felt like a behind-the-scenes look at how games were made. I always looked forward to watching my friends play the small games I would make.

Since joining TGA, I have also started liking the group aspect of making games. Solving problems together feels more rewarding than doing it by yourself. My role in a team environment is someone who tries to help other people when they run into blockers. It’s because of this that I have focused heavily on making tools for our engine.

Outside of school I have participated in various game jams on itch.io, most recently being the GMTK Game Jam 2025. For me, game jams are a nice exercise for coming up with creative game ideas. I also enjoy the reactions and feedback I get from other participants.

Other than playing and programming video games, I have been active in Nacka Församling’s church, being a youth leader for 3 years and working full time as a youth assistant for 1 year. My time there helped me greatly with socializing with people and being comfortable in a leader position.
